All Zess T. Recipes and Effects
Cooking can be unlocked in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door as early as Chapter 2. This guide lists all Zess T. recipes in Paper Mario: TTYD and explains how to unlock cooking and two-item recipes. The recipes are listed in alphabetical order by result.
How to Unlock Cooking
Zess T. in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is the ornery lady Toad who you can meet by trying to go to west Rogueport before the completion of Chapter 1. After completing the quest for the Contact Lens in Chapter 2, Mario is introduced to her and learns that she’s a cook. From that point on, you can give her items to be cooked into even better versions.
Following Chapter 4, you can complete Zess T's trouble from the Trouble Center, which gives her the ability to cook with two items and drastically expand her menu.

Paper Mario: TTYD Zess T. Recipes
It appears that all of the original recipes from the GameCube version of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door work once again, but we’re still testing out to see what works! Check back to see if we’ve made a dent in the cookbook with updates!
In the original GameCube version of Paper Mario: TTYD, there were chances of failure when making certain rare items that would result in the making of a Dizzy Dial or Peachy Peach instead. We’re still testing to see how frequently it can happen in the 2024 Paper Mario: TTYD remake, but it appears the chance of making them by mistake has gone down significantly (if not completely).
