Once you start playing you'll think it's been maybe an hour but you look around and look at the time and realize you've been playing for 6 hours or more. A truely delightful game.
Honestly thought this would be a game that bored me at first. A family member of mine got it, I tried it, and it's my whole world now. It's immersive in a way that's unbelievable. One of THE best games I've ever played.
I loved this game from the moment I started. The level of care and detail that has gone into Baldur's Gate 3 is clear from the outset, from an incredibly diverse character creation and class system to the sheer volume of incredible world building and characterisation throughout the entire game. Of the 150 hours of my first playthrough, at no point did I ever feel like I was just doing a task for the sake of doing the thing. There is a reason for every action, every quest, a reason to care about what you're doing and why you're doing it. When The Witcher 3 came out and had diverse story driven side quests, it was praised far and wide for the developers actually putting thought into how we tackle side content and why, but ultimately many of those quests wound up a little same-y, and there was still a certain degree of grind. In Baldur's Gate 3, they've perfected this, each quest is unique and distinct, each character a true individual, and at no point did I feel a grind. Every moment was either spent in curious exploration, thoughtful conversation, or strategic contemplation of the next battle. This game challenges you to think, there is no one way, there is almost always your way, and you'll reach an end one way or another, and what that end looks like is entirely up to you. I can't recommend this game enough.

It has some bugs, but the patches are fixing many issues and adding more content that players are requesting. In short, fantastic game made by devs who actually love video games, and respect their playerbase.

An all time great. The pinnacle of the CRPG genre and what Larian has been working to for years.
Baldur's Gate 3 is a immersive sim, then based tactics, RPG soup - with some of the greatest characters and most reactive world in video game history. Just, play it.
Publishers should take note of what we actually want in games. They can use Baldur's Gate 3 as an example. No microtransactions, full game, immediate dev support and updates....I can't seem to find one bad thing to say about this game or Larian Studios.

This is not an easy game, and I wouldn't let my thirteen-year old son play it for a few more years, but for those of us who can remember the excitement and total immersion of the old Bioware masterpieces like Mass Effect, KOTOR, Dragon Age: Origins, and, of course the original Baldur's Gate games (which I admit I haven't actually played for more than a couple of hours.. I was just a little too young to appreciate those at the time), this game is something special that we haven't seen since, well, the original Mass Effect trilogy, KOTOR, or Dragon Age: Origins.
I'm also someone who loves turn-based combat like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy: Tactics, so this game feels even better to play than KOTOR and Mass Effect (it might be too soon to make that claim, but I'm 80 hours in, and I've just finished Act 2, and this game creates the same nail-biting tension that the turn-based combat of Fire Emblem does in a way that the action/turn-based hybrids don't).
I haven't even touched multiplayer because I'm waiting for friends and family to experience more of the game so I can talk about it without spoilers, but this game is an experience that I haven't felt in a long time.
Even if, somehow, the last act of the game is a complete dumpster fire of a disappointment, I feel as though the first two acts have been so strong and presented so much replayability that I've already gotten my money's worth, and I suspect that the last act of the game will be good.
Can I talk about the combat encounters??? There is no grinding here! Every encounter so far has felt like it was designed by a masterful tactician; a dungeon master who understands how to create interesting and meaningful scenarios.
I am so emotionally invested in this game right now.
I have to just thank Larian Studios for this beautiful work of art. This is the game I've been waiting a decade for; this is the game that should remind us what heights interactive storytelling in gaming can reach.
I liked that game, but at some point, I just got sick of this game. To much information and things to do. Long questlines and not really rewarding.
This game is a bug fest and has been from day one. People were charged $70 to test this dumpster fire for THREE YEARS, and Larian can't produce hotfixes and patches enough to keep it running.
This is a horrible game filled with stale tropes, extremely offensive content, homophobic stereotypes, dead end quests, and zero community support. Larian can't even keep its own forums running smoothly.
I think gaming journalism needs to stop thinking about kickbacks from gaming companies and start maybe doing something positive for gamers: like telling the truth.
Co-op game: Not a friendly navigation system, easy to get lost and not know what to do, the quest system is not friendly enough, time consuming to reach foes in the map (no teleportation to your friends only to waypoints).
looting becomes a problem with foes, you will have to ask your party to leave you stuff, and last but not less important: the camera movement is linked to the keyboard or to a key.
So if you come from ESO you are going to have a rough time trying to get use to the mechanics of this game.
This game is way too hyper sexualized, to the point of being revolting. It throws disgusting *** related one liners in regardless of the situation with little thought on its impact other than to satisfy the cavemen that enjoy these kinds of games. Larian studios have NOT done anything new in the gaming scene with this games release. It ha*****most 3 year paid early access yet people seem to think this game was "released finished". This is just plain not true. It went through the standard title update/early access process we've seen every single other game do. It's not new or exciting its a re cast of previous games. Giving you more options isn't revolutionary either. It's just more of the same thing we've already seen. This game is disgusting and it's fan base is worse. They're also heavily uneducated in its own development history, either that or are purposely ignoring its 3 year paid early access so they can shout "finally a fully complete game in 2023" which is wrong on so many levels considering the state of chp 3. This game is over hyped, hyper sexualized garbage that preyed on wallets for 3 years before it got any kind of decent. Wake up people.

Way too overhyped. The game is like the witcher minus the combat. I am intrigued by the story, and nothing else. If cheats were available to bypass the annoying combat situations, I would 100 percent use them.
Going by $1 = 1 hour Video Game logic, this game is worth sooooo much more than the 60 bucks I paid, holy shit!
IMO overwhelmed complexity of game mechanics
this game was made by a naga needs to be arrested for such waste and shot im not racist im just stating facts you tell me a raid of shadow legends copy has a rating like red dead 2 my *** and **** you if you think this is a good game unless ur mentally ill even a cave man wouldnt play it
