Chapter 1, Act 4: Clashing Blades

The Wuthering Waves Clashing Blades quest takes us back to Jinzhou, where we'll explore a well-hidden domain. Clashing Blades is the sixth main quest in Wuthering Waves, following the Ominous Star quest. To start Clashing Blades, you need a Union Level of at least 14.

Clashing Blades Walkthrough

To start the Clashing Blades quest, return to Jinzhou (the city you’ve explored during the First Resonance quest. Use the Resonance Beacon in the northeast and speak with Chixia, who’s waiting around the corner.

During your conversation with Chixia, she’ll show you a compass and ask you to solve a puzzle. Here’s what to answer:

Answer 1: The Shichen of Wei.
Answer 2: Vermilion Bird of the South.

Visit the City Hall. The fastest way to get there is to use the grappling points behind you - you can fly to the elevator and move to the higher floor.

To find the Grand Library, you must solve the vase puzzle. After entering the City Hall, you’ll see three vases on the left and three on the right. Walk to the one furthest away from you on the left side, as shown in the picture below, and choose “shift vase”.

A secret door will open behind the vase. Go through it and inspect the ‘Symphodai’ mechanism in the middle of the room.

A tiny blue note, called a Sonodisk, will appear behind the Symphodai. Pick it up and interact with the Symphodai again. Next, interact with the Loong Drum on your right.

Walk to the bell statue that has appeared behind the Loong Drum. Strike it twice, then enter the room behind it.

Two minor Tacet Discords will appear. Defeat them, then pick up the item from the floor.

Turn around, then take the hallway to the right as shown in the picture below. At the end of the hallway on the left, you’ll find the second Sonodisk (blue note). Return it to the Symphodai.

Walk to the edge of the platform and look down. See the Loong Drum as shown in the picture below? Glide down to this drum and activate it, then hit the bell statue behind it three times.

Take the new path that leads to an elevator, and go up.

At the end of the hallway, defeat two minor Tacet Discords again and pick up the third Sonodisk.

Exit this room through the door, then activate the Loong Drum on your right side and walk back to the Symphodai. Interact with it to return the Sonodisk.

Strike the bell statue on the right side of the Symphodai again - this time, hit it thrice.

The newfound path leads to an elevator shaft, but without the elevator. Glide down and you’ll find the fourth Sonodisk right in front of you.

Leave this room, activate the Loong Drum on your right, and walk back to the Symphodai.

You only need one more Sonodisk. To obtain it, glide down to the round platform directly below the Symphodai. You’ll have to defeat three Tacet Discords here.

Once that’s done, pick up the final Sonodisk (the yellow note) and activate the Loong Drum on the northern side of the platform. Follow the path to the elevator, go up, and return the note to the Symphodai.

Behind the Symphodai, a new pathway will open up - walk straight ahead until the next cutscene starts.

Once again, you must defeat Scar. Beware that there are two phases to this battle; once you've defeated Scar in his 'normal' form, he'll enter a monstrous form and take you to another battle arena.

To defeat Scar, focus on countering his attacks and depleting his Vibration Strength. While he's immobilized, attack as quickly as you can.

Once Scar is down, the Wuthering Waves Clashing Blades quest will be completed. You can start the next quest, Rewinding Raindrops, as soon as you reach Union Level 21.
