amazing
Diablo 4 is a stunning sequel with near perfect endgame and progression design that makes it absolutely excruciating to put down.

It's an unbelievably cool world, a gorgeous and stunning depiction of a sad reality that feels real. Moments are stunning, some performances fantastic.
Occasionally, though, the pacing is frayed. Characters make changes that feels unearned, some of the voice acting outside of the cutscenes feel disjointed, like the performers didn't record in the same space. Lastly, and worst, you are better off skipping most all side quests until the main story is done. You will be too over leveled otherwise.
I really think the world is splendid, however, the art unnerving, and the game a hell of a lot of fun.
Game feels empty, developers lack direction and focus, intentionally slowed combat in an ARPG with high cooldowns and small resource pools. 2 of the 5 classes are weak to the point of almost unplayable, no endgame goals except grind an endless non-optimized rift system called "Nightmare Dungeons" which are less viable than farming normal dungeons, or perhaps reach the highest level in the game to try the only engaging boss fight. This game is unfinished, unpolished and genuinely not fun to play. Annoyed I was baited to pay for Early Access, only to have my character bugged until the start of the first Season. Grinding Gear Games can make more impactful updates with 1/10th the developers and money investments. Maybe the game will be okay in 2 years, but until then I have much better games to play and look forward to.
It goes down everyday it seems. Yesterday was a glitch, today is a ddos, tomorrow who knows. When they decided to make it live they should have known.
The games fundamentals are built around monsters scaling with player lvl… Having enemies scale to same level eliminates element of progression and satisfaction. What’s the point in lvling up and getting better gear when it’s the same **** over again???? There’s no fun in it, it’s there to fill peoples ego… “look at me I’m a higher lvl” Shit gets boring once the novelty wears off….
Possibly the most overrated, boring game I’ve ever played. The fights are all the same, the mobs and bosses all are faded red, generic demons, the classes just stand there and mash.
One build per class... Items are a joke. The beta was basically the entire game... so the design from 1-25 is the same as 25-100. lol insane. you unlock all skills by 25
They wouldn't let me return the game when it wouldn't work on my computer even though I pre-ordered it because the policy is after 2 weeks you can't return a game from them. Even though I pre-purchased it to help them out it bit me in the *** I guess. I guess that counts as having it for 2 weeks since I pre-ordered it.
Diablo is no longer the same.
Save your money!

Diablo is back and better then ever.
They've destroyed almost everyones will and motivation (including mine) to play Diablo IV. Patch 1.1 should've existed out of QoL and/or harder content such as torment 5, 6, or above.
But instead they nerfed the classes into oblivion where as the sorcerer is not even playable anymore.
Blizzard as a company is out of touch, and has lost complete sense of feel or connection with the playerbase.
Dead game
This game isn't even a finished product. And what they have finished is lazy, cheap, and awful. It looks beautiful and if you play for the 1st hour or so, you'll think I'm full of it.
But after that, it becomes apparent.
Get to level 40 or so then follow around a level 9 person. Watch them chew up enemies while you struggle.
It's mind blowing that they thought this was a good idea. The story is a joke too. For shame. I probably wouldn't care if I had paid $5 for this.
That's about its value.
On a final note, I will add, that perhaps they'll come out with a major update and change things up.
But it will have to be Major, really Major.
fun regular story, endgame will get boring quick. could change but as of 6/25/2023 I ran out of meaningful things to do at about level 65
I’m a Diablo 1 to 3 veteran and an ex-WOW top server elite 25-10M Raider. I had 4 D3 Torment 11-12 Toons. I enjoyed D3 Necromancer until stuck on Torment 11 cuz no corpses provided on solo elite end bosses.
Diablo 4 is virtually a fraud. Record sales of $666M were due to the D3 Development Team not this one. Every minute playing D4 there seems a disdain for anything D3. All the D3 aspects, essence, innovation and FUN have been purposely programmed out! Have they played their D4? Why dismantle the toon movement mechanics: backwards, sideways, forward rolls? PS5 right joystick is voided. Gameplay is like 1990’s not like beautiful D3. That is what I enjoyed in all my Toons the swift, smooth movement not the jerky, haphazard one dimensional movement now. The targeting is so primitive. I find myself shooting at walls blowing my CDs while the target is in my sites. I’m yelling constantly which isn’t normal. Why the 8 health potions instead of the bottomless one? Do they enjoy having us painfully port to town? Why are town merchants spread out and even in buildings with clickable NPCs in the way? Why change the from the WOW stats/format to this over complex convoluted aspects, paragon pts, skill tree and idiotic codex? I’m a veteran and I have to look up jeweling, aspects, paragon, overpower etc! Nothing is intuitive! Only positive is the mount. Basically I’m not having Fun leveling. At 50, I just enjoy logging on. I chose PS5 over PC cuz I was addicted to PC play. D3 PS4 was fun and awesome in every aspect. It just needed more content and a mount! D4 is geared toward seasonals. So see any retentions? Where’s Candyland? D4 should NOT be called Diablo. It’s definitely misleading cuz our fan base of 10M expected D3 fundamentals to be kept and continued. I can see the D4 Team celebrating their momentarily financial success, but it feels similar to bait and switch fraud. No one knew since only Beta players knew.
don't play
