Any new month means LEGO fans have a whole batch of new LEGO sets to buy, preorder, or simply yearn for. June is no exception, with some super spiffy new sets, including the massive, imposing Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr set (a.k.a. Sauron’s dark tower). More sets, ranging from Harry Potter to Paris, are also available now, so let’s dive right in.
LEGO Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr Is Now Available (but Backordered)
The second massive build in the new wave of Lord of the Rings sets is here — and despite the pricy price tag, it’s already backordered. That’s OK, though, because you can place the order and it will arrive when it’s back in stock. It’s quite an impressive set, and we’ll have a deep dive of it going up later today.
LEGO Minecraft: The Crafting Table Is Up for Preorder
LEGO has had a successful line of Minecraft sets for years — but they’ve all been aimed at the kid audience. This new Crafting Table is the first LEGO Minecraft set geared toward adults. It features 12 biomes, with five mini builds nested inside the display and eight micro Minecraft figures, including Steve, Alex, a Creeper, and more. This one’s out August 1, but you can preorder it now at Amazon or the LEGO Store.
New LEGO Harry Potter Sets
- Triwizard Tournament: The Arrival - $139.99
- Ollivanders & Madam Malkin's Robes - $89.99
- Mandrake Figure & Pot Plant - $69.99
- Buckbeak The Hippogriff - $59.99
- Hogwarts Castle: Potions Class - $39.99
- Aragog in The Forbidden Forest - $19.99
The standout Potter set this month is The Great Hall, which is impressive on its own, with lots of neat details for fans of the Harry Potter books and movies. But perhaps the coolest thing about it is that it’s the first piece of a new modular Hogwarts Castle set that will be bigger than all previous renditions, once all the sets release and you put them together. We have full details in our We Build LEGO Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall feature.
New LEGO Star Wars Sets
- Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack - $19.99
- Luke Skywalker X-Wing Mech - $15.99
- Captain Rex Y-Wing Microfighter - $12.99
It's a light month for LEGO Star Wars sets, but also a relatively inexpensive one, with no new super expensive LEGO sets coming on the market. That said, if you're looking for a smaller set, perhaps to give as a birthday gift, it's a good month for that.
New LEGO Minecraft Sets
- The Badlands Mineshaft - $59.99
- The Windmill Farm - $54.99
- The Wolf Stronghold - $34.99
- The Cherry Blossom Garden - $27.99
- The Pirate Ship Voyage - $14.99
In addition to the new LEGO Minecraft Crafting Table set that's up for preorder for adults, a slew of new Minecraft LEGO sets for kids is now available. Unfortunately for me, my favorite is the most expensive, the Ender Dragon and End Ship. However, the more modestly priced Wolf Stronghold is excellent as well.
LEGO Architecture: Notre-Dame de Paris Is Now Available
Fire might have damaged the real building on the Seine River in 2019, but this gorgeous LEGO re-creation of the iconic cathedral is fully intact — once you build it, anyway. This is a beautiful homage to one of the most famous architectural achievements in all of Europe. Pair this set with the LEGO Mona Lisa coming in October (see on Amazon), and you can have a regular French soirée.
New LEGO Disney Sets
- The Magical Madrigal House - $159.99
- Maleficent’s Dragon Form - $69.99
- Snow White's Jewelry Box - $44.99
- Mini Disney Sleeping Beauty Castle - $39.99
- Moana's Flowerpot - $39.99
- Simba the Lion King Cub - $19.99
Young Simba is my favorite of the new Disney LEGO sets for June 2024. You can almost hear him roar. Also out this month is the Magical Madrigal House from Encanto.
New LEGO Brickheadz Sets
- Legolas & Gimli - $19.99
- Joy, Sadness & Anxiety - $19.99
- Mirabel Madrigal - $9.99
LEGO BrickHeadz are great. They depict beloved characters in a cute, super-blocky style, and they're way less expensive than most LEGO sets. This month's releases are great for fans of Lord of the Rings and Disney/Pixar properties.
More New LEGO Sets for June 2024
- Ninjago: Tournament Temple City - $249.99
- Icons: Retro Radio - $99.99
- Traditional Chess Set - $74.99
Everyone loves cats, and if you’re reading this there’s a good chance you love LEGO. Combine those two loves, and you get this adorable tuxedo cat set. The cat’s head rotates, and you can move its ears, paws, and tail to give it different poses. You can even swap in yellow or blue eyes, and make its mouth open or closed.
LEGO Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Cottage Is Available at Amazon
Previously a LEGO Store exclusive, this gorgeous Disney set for adults is now available at Amazon. Check out our We Build Snow White’s Cottage feature for full details to see why it’s one of the best LEGO sets on the market right now.
LEGO Icons Medieval Town Square Is Available at Amazon
Another olde timey village-style build is the LEGO Icons Medieval Town Square set. It’s a cozy build that brings back much of what fans loved about the 2009 Medieval Market Village set, but with lots of new features. It used to be a LEGO Store exclusive, but now joins Snow White's cottage in wider release at Amazon.
