If only Sony had chose to make it both standalone and the PS5 requirement it would have sold out. How you say? Easy, when it's not plugged in the headset reverts to PSVR 1 specs. And obviously unlocks all the new PSVR2 specs when connected to the PS5. So DUMB. But hey I've got no problem waiting until it's 399 and bundled with games on a Black Friday

My preordered PSVR2 unit arrived defective on release day. When the PSVR2 is plugged into the PS5, an error message appears on the screen "There are too many USB devices connected". It is the only USB device. I think this means it's electronically faulty and is drawing too much current for the PS5's USB-C port. I'm going to have to return the unit.
