Summary
The climactic third game in the fantasy RPG series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a unique combination of a non-linear story and an open world -- a character-driven, non-linear story experience focused on player choice, tactical combat and a rich, living environment.

This game is wonderfully executed. It is a testament to the writing of the CDPR staff to carry out the works of Sapowski and keep the characters true to the source. The end result is a gorgeous, immersive, and heart wrenching game with some of the best writing in a video game.

I started playing this game about 7 months ago, but I didn't want to finish it because I wanted to enjoy everything the game has, I wanted to collect all the Gwent cards, make all the witch contracts, and do all the secondary missions like getting a pot from a madam. Spoiler about me: I didn't do everything the way I wanted, but I'm going to start again. It took me 136 hours to finish the game. This game is one of the masterpieces of today, not like Skyrim, but good in its own way. the soundtrack is something unique and they have a perfect song for a perfect situation, like when you go to Skellige or in combat, I saw a lot of ****s (beautiful ****s), but all the girls have the same body, I wish they had different breasts and bodies and more different animations for sex, AND MORE places like Passiflora, but that's ok. Some things like the combat, it wasn't as good as I thought, like the same animations over and over again (of course there are a lot of animations but I still think it could be improved), I think the inventory could be prettier and more organized (in my opinion ) I say this because I like reading books and I find the way they are stored and the way they are read strange. I love the ending, I really want the next game, but now with Ciri, something like her rebuilding Kaer Morhen and training new witchers. The game is VERY GOOD, even for those who haven't played the first games.

As a fan of the Witcher series, Witcher 3 takes the series to a whole new level. I played this way back on PS4 and loved every minute of it. Then with the next gen patch I played it again for the 1000th time. I've played this game through and through 6 times plus DLC. It has an amazing soundtrack, amazing voice acting, great combat, and a fantastic story. Playing this had me wanting to go back and play Witcher 1 (2008) all the way through, which I still plan to do. Definitely recommend this game to anyone who loves a fantastic story and loves the Witcher lore and series.

The gameplay is very good, maybe some mechanics could be "old" or buggy like the horse riding, but still good for me.
About the story, there are many spoilers about the books, so if you're planning on reading them or watching the TV series, you should probably wait and finish those first. Also the first two games are not so essentially mandatory to play, but recommended of course

Imagine a game where even the side missions are more enjoyable and thoughtful than the main story of most games, and each of its missions is unique. This is Witcher 3. It's truly a masterpiece.

This is a game i wanted to love but just didn’t. I bounced off Witcher 1 and 2 but from all the hype thought Witcher 3 would be the one. I started it a few different times and this time finally put forth a good effort. 44 hours in i just didn’t care or not if i continued on. There were a few interesting story elements (the Bloody Baron and Wild at Heart quests) but after those i felt i was doing a lot of fetch quests. I had so much **** in my inventory for crafting i could barely pick anything up anymore but had no idea what could be discarded or sold. Honestly i hate crafting in any game. Anyhow, it wasn’t terrible but for me it was just not a great experience. Having just finished a number of triple AAA games this just really struck me as a C. I dont feel like dedicating anymore time to it and so far not a single game from this developer has been something i have finished and i tend to finish games. Not sure if i will try Cyberpunk or not.

Fantastic world. Great characters. Deep lore. Excellent writing overall.
But the game was let down for me by the combat and the levelling system.
The combat was just too easy. And the difficulty wasn't well implemented either. The only difference between the easier and the harder difficulties for me was that an enemy takes 5 hits to die vs 15 hits to die. Nothing got more challengin****uch as it got more tedious.
And its incredibly easy to find a "winning" strategy to combat. Multiple times. I couldn't remember dying or even approaching death in combat a single time. Heck I was YAWNING through multiple boss battles.
Even if this was the most amazing story ever, it can only do so much when the thing you do for most of the game when you're not watching cutscenes is just not fun, and doesn't even get your heart rate up. That thing you do most of the time being exploration and combat.
And exploration was brought down by the levelling system. It's been a while since I played it, but as I recall, anything 5 levels over you is basically immortal, unless you spend 15 minutes hacking, slashing, magicking and inventory-ING your way through a single enemy. Something I learnt the hard way, because I play my games with as minimal hud as possible. So I didn't see the skull icon indicating that an enemy was over levelled.
And there were just so many occasions where I'd explore the land, because I love exploring, only to encounter an over levelled enemy, halting exploration and sending me back until God knows when. This was an issue I faced throughout my 90 hour campaign.
Why would I spend 90 hours on a game that I clearly wasn't vibing with? Well the short answer is because some friends kept pestering me about it, despite everything. Plus I was invested in the story choices.
I own the dlc, but I don't think I'll ever muster up enough courage to put myself through the combat and the awful levelling system again.
Still deserves a 7 for the writing and the engine tech.

I can't even remember how many playthroughs I have done because I always return to do it again and again. So many possibilities and amazing stories, characters, lore... One of the best games ever created (shout out to the books as well)!
